A fire broke out on the second floor of the Finance Ministry located in the Old Parliament building yesterday (16).
Chief Fire Officer P.D.K.A.Wilson said that the fire broke out due to an electrical failure in a passage of the second floor. He said the fire brigade responded quickly and dispatched three firefighting vehicles to the building to douse the fire from spreading.
The situation was brought under control and no serious property damages were reported.
