As I worked on these two abstract paintings, I tried to simplify the composition and accentuate details of interest. I used cadmium orange, cadmium red light, cadmium red medium, and cadmium red deep. By the time I finished, I had cut back on the light tan areas and strengthened the darker reds.
Unfortunately, these dark reds don't photograph accurately (or at least, I can't get them to), so these images don't reflect the actual color and contrast in the paintings.
