Yesterday was Thanksgiving here in the US--a day of sharing with family and friends. It's not an easy day for me since Adrian died, but I spend the holiday now with my daughter, her family, and her husband's family. They live only twenty minutes away, so it's not a big travel day.
This painting has stumped me--it's very different from my usual work. There are many tiny details in it, and the struggle is to make them all work together as a whole. Towards the end of the painting process, I spend a lot of time staring at a canvas to figure out what it needs to complete it.
In this final version, you won't see that many changes from last time, but I added more Prussian blue lines in sections to strengthen them and guide the eye.
I haven't signed it yet, so maybe I'll still do more. I'm going to let it sit for a while now. Does it look "done" to you?
