WHAT I THOUGHTI read Sophie Kinsella years and years ago and was a secret fan of her shopaholic series. Until I realised chic lit was twee of course and decided dead bodies, blood, guts and the occasional demon was more interesting. I had no idea her name was a pseudonym until I read it online. I was planning to read a book by Elena Ferrante but it wasn't available so had to switch.
Anyway, I thought Finding Audrey was brilliant. I was hooked from start to finish and fell completely in love with Audrey's world and her adorably messed up family. I loved Audrey's voice. I really liked the fact this is different than a lot of YA fiction and tries to be a bit different. I enjoyed every word of this cracking novel. I got sucked into Audrey's life and didn't want to leave. Audrey is a great character. I love her viewpoint, her take on things and seeing the world from inside her socially anxious, lizard brain. The teen romance between her and Linus didn't even put me off. I really liked how Audrey developed over the course of the book, becoming much stronger and in control of her life. Finding Audrey is fantastic.
