Recently, on 7th September 2019, a task force of 6 members has been set by the Finance Minister. This is a task force set around 2:41 P.M. today by the Finance Minister (Nirmala Sitharaman).
This task force is going to implement the government's plan of Rs. 100 lakh crore. This is a national infrastructure project that is going to take place over the next five years. Therefore, the head of the task force will be the secretary of DEA (Department of Economic Affairs). This task force will further include the CEO of the government think tank as its member. Therefore, the other four members going to join this project will be from DEA only. This is a heavy infrastructure project that is why DEA is going to implement it.
The terms of reference for this task force will include identifying technically feasible, financially and economically viable infrastructure projects. On the other hand, this newly made task force will also list the projects. Which will include in the pipeline over the remaining 5 years from 2021 to 2025. This task force panel will suggest measure to monitor the projects. With the help of this, we can easily minimize time and cost.
The national infrastructure project will include the green field as well as the brownfield. Both of them worth above Rs.100 crore each. PM Mr. Narendra Modi gave a speech on 15th August that Rs.100 lakh crore will be invested for this new social and economic infrastructure projects.
Therefore, the government of India has set a goal to make India a $5 trillion economy by 2024-25.
