Finally The Start Of Spring

By Azanimals @azanimals
(c) A-Z-Animals It may have been very late coming this year thanks to the bitterly cold and wintry weather that we saw in the UK up until last week, but as the last of the snow melts away spring is most certainly ready to burst into life behind it.

The trees may still look a little bare and leafless however, slowly but surely this years buds are beginning to appear and are readying themselves for the warmer weather ahead, attracting numerous species of birds and insects into our parks and gardens.

But, it is not just the trees that look like they are ready to spring back to life, the ground is as well with fresh shoots of grass popping up amongst the growing abundance and variety of wild flowers that are beginning to bring the color of spring back into our gardens after what has seemed like an endlessly long winter.

Although the snowdrops bloomed briefly towards the end of January when conditions looked to begin to warm, it is now that other and more colourful species of flora begin to appear such as daffodils which indicate the true start to the spring season every year.

It is not just these bright yellow flowers though that can be seen popping up on lawns and in hedgerows, as other species contribute with their own shapes and colours such as crocus, oxlip and apple blossom, and if your really lucky you may even spot the occasional daisy.
