Yesterday I took a walk at Sapsucker Woods, a bird sanctuary at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. We are having summer-like weather out of season here, and it's important to get outdoors on those days because they are usually numbered.
My latest abstract painting has the feel of spring to it, a sense of an impressionist landscape. As I worked to complete it, I drew more lines in black and parchment, toning down some of the bright color. Then I added light emerald green and brilliant purple to brighten it back up: push pull.
