Verdict on Final Destination: Bloodlines
Recap
The movie follows the descendants of somebody who prevents death from inheriting the visions. It follows their journey to understand what they are facing, while death is waiting to pick them off in the strangest series of ways.
Best Parts
The death sequences are outrageous, something the franchise has been built on. With the opening sequence being no different, the chaos is unleashed. Elsewhere, the future sequences are crazy too and keeping the events surrounding a family is a nice twist. The truly standout moment comes from one of Tony Todd’s final film roles. He has been an icon of the franchise and horror. It brought tears to my eyes as it was such a fitting scene for the character and actor.
Worst Parts
The CGI, blue screens and most computer effects look unfinished, also, it might have just been my copy at the cinema, but some of the conversation sounds felt off. It also loses the ‘almost’ factor that the previous films used a lot, and forgets one of the biggest rules the franchise created. Elsewhere, Stefani is a strange character, and like most of the characters, none of them felt like they lived in a real world, especially after the events that happened.
Final Thoughts –Final Destination: Bloodlines is big, chaotic, outrageous and everything you expect in the franchise.
