Film Friday #5

By Hellofreckles @tashajsteel
Film Friday #5This week, I'm doing 'Film Friday' a little differently and just focusing on one film (although I have only been to see one film this week, hey I've been busy!) and it's the big one almost everyone's been talking about.
I'm just gonna put it out there; I loved it! The fact it lasts just short of three hours (1 minute under) didn't bother me and it needed to be that long for the flow of the film and to get across the whole story. Of course this is all just my opinion, as is every Film Friday.

Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a young stockbroker on a quest to become rich. He meets Donnie Azoff (Jonah Hill) a relatively naive guy, with the whitest teeth and 'goofy' glasses and they set up Stratton Oakmont. Both DiCaprio and Hill give incredible performances. I didn't like Belfort as a character, you're not meant to though, but I was still captivated by him and I really hope this is the role where DiCaprio finally gets that Oscar he deserves!

There's drugs, sex, swearing (over 500 uses of a certain 'f-word) and more drugs. You can certainly see why it's been rated 18+ but that's just Belfort's lifestyle and the way Scorsese has portrayed it, you feel like you're there with him.

Margot Robbie stars as Belfort's second wife, Naomi, and she's not only gorgeous, but plays the role incredibly well and certainly deserves more credit for her performance (as all I've seen mentioned in reviews I've seen, is her looks)

Get yourself some nachos/a pick n mix and make sure you visit the toilet before you go! That's my best advice, but if you do go to see it/have seen it, I'd love to know what you think!
