Film Friday #4
It's been a little while since my last Film Friday post but it's back and this time there's a serious Jennifer Lawrence girl crush happenin'.
The Hunger Games: Catching FireIt wasn't until last month I actually watched The Hunger Games. My boyfriend seemed quite surprised I'd never seen it and actually, I was too after watching it. I really enjoyed it and the sequel was great too. The whole concept of the games is a bit crazy if you think about it too long but the films are really worth a watch.

Catching Fire follows Katniss and Peeta on their victory tour of the 13 districts ahead of the 75th Hunger Games. It is the third Quarter Quell and the rules have changed. I don't want to give much away if you've not seen it, but it's pretty tense and if you enjoyed the first film, you'll definitely enjoy Catching Fire.Providing my final semester at uni doesn't get in the way too much (hah!) I want to give the books a read before Mockingjay is released in cinemas. It is gonna be a film, right?American HustleEver since seeing the trailers for this film, I knew I had to see it. It just looked like one of those that was right up my street, a nice little narrative that would no doubt have some surprising twists (it does) and a fantastic cast. Bradley Cooper in curlers was so funny to see and his character, Richie DiMaso, reminded me of Pat Solitano (Silver Linings Playbook) in some scenes. This could have been due to both having the same director, David O. Russell, and the mentality of the character and the way he deals with problems. In no way was it a bad thing, but there were some similarities. Jennifer Lawrence's character, Rosalyn Rosenfeld was very different to Tiffany (Silver Linings Playbook) she was funny, fiesty and seemed naive at times. The dancing scene and the 'science oven' parts were acted brilliantly and she looked great blonde (told you, bit of a girl crush happenin' over here). I'd massively recommend American Hustle, it looks great - that cinematography and the steadicam shots, oh man, the story is really great and the cast speak for themselves. Oh, and Christian Bale's combover is hilarious!Next on my list to see is The Wolf Of Wall Street so check back next Friday to see what I thought! What've you seen lately?
