Fight Against Food Waste: Inglorious Fruits & Vegetables

By Nogarlicnoonions @nogarlicnoonion

Commercial supermarket chain in France, Intermarché, launched a brilliant campaign called ‘Inglorious Fruits&Vegetables’, whereby fruits and vegetables that don’t usually make it to the shelves, for their weird shapes, are not thrown away. Instead they are given a whole different section, aisle, and space on the receipt at the supermarket and sold for 30% less.

To launch this, a huge campaign, which got media talking about the fight against food waste, celebrates the goodness of the failed fruits and vegetables, featuring Grotesque Apple, the Ridiculous Potato, the Hideous Orange, the Failed Lemon, the Disfigured Eggplant, the Ugly Carrot, and the Unfortunate Clementine.
