Qatar will offer a new way to experience the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Fans will not only be able to watch the most memorable moments, but they will also be able to own them.

Companies like FIFA, Budweiser, and Visa have all released new NFTs before the tournament starts this week.

The NFT craze has taken over the game, and players and clubs are now offering many ways to buy collectibles that have something to do with their image or history.

NFT soccer is a popular item for clubs and players to do, and online markets and games have exploded on the scene. Reports say that the Premier League is in talks with blockchain companies to join the MLS, La Liga, and Bundesliga.

Collectibles are typically mementos of a certain player or memorabilia of a league’s most historic moments.

Former Chelsea defender John Terry’s Ape Kids Football Club NFT scam was one of the earliest failures, with memorabilia plummeting below 1% of their initial worth earlier this year.

Collect FIFA and World Cup 2022 NFT

The governing body’s brand-new NFT technology, FIFA+ Collect, has partnered with Algorand for the Qatar tournament.

The platform includes NFT memorabilia from the men’s World Cup in addition to historic moments, artwork, and imagery.

The ‘Genesis Drop’ of FIFA released 532,980 packs containing rare and historic events from earlier seasons. Since then, there have been two additional releases.

Examples include Ronaldo’s winning goal in the 2002 final and Mbappe’s goal during France’s comeback against Argentina in 2018.

The unique and limited edition content will be available on FIFA+, a platform that will also include live matches and original content.

The concept, according to FIFA’s chief business officer Romi Guy, would “democratize the ability to own a part of the World Cup.”

Budvaverse X 2022 World Cup NFT

FIFA has partnered with beer giant Budweiser to launch a new set of live NFTs in Qatar, expanding its digital collectable offerings.

Live Scoreboard will provide NFT owners with an animated scoreboard showcasing their preferred nation, which will be updated during all Qatar 2022 matches.

The ‘Budverse’ collaboration will likely be a forerunner of the trend of live NFTs incorporating updated statistics.

Along with its digital collectibles, Budweiser is trying to get people to buy a scarf, an aluminum cup that changes color, and a trading card.

Don’t wait until November to get in on the action!

Other NFTs about the World Cup

Visa is also taking part in the NFT promotion by holding an auction to raise money for the UK charity Street Child United.

Five collectibles were made with Jared Borghetti, Tim Cahill, Carli Lloyd, Michael Owen, and Maxi Rodriguez’s historic World Cup goals, and the highest bidder got them.

How much does it cost to buy the World Cup NFT?

On the FIFA Collect platform, packs start at $4.99, while ‘iconic’ collectibles can be bought for up to $3,200 on their trading market.

With the Buddyverse x World Cup collaboration, each live scoreboard will cost NFT $100.
