August 2017: It's probably my 5th visit to this region, the Southern Shan State of Myanmar, and yet I was still as excited as the first time I came. There was something in the sprawling rolling fields, a patchwork of verdant vegetable plots, that provide a visual feast to my eyes. Perhaps it was because I was born in a farm and have learned early in my life to appreciate the beauty - the life - that vegetable patches represent. Have I been born in this part of the world, I would have been less motivated to wander.
