Feed Your Body, Soul, Heart, Mind and Community

By Djridings @fivethingsnow

Please enjoy the suggestions from Kate who is the author of the blog http://www.4amWriter.com

  1. Feed Your Body. Take a walk or engage in some form of relaxing, meaningful exercise. No, you don’t have to train for the marathon. Just 30 minutes of stretching will do wonders for your muscles and joints. Moving the body, even in a non-stressful way, is helpful to kick-start your energy. People sleep, eat, and think better when they’re exercising regularly.
  2. Feed Your Soul. Spend one hour doing what you love most. Too often we’re doing something for someone else, on the go with errands or chores that don’t bring us any particular joy. By spending one hour painting, reading, visiting a museum, gardening, writing, baking, brewing beer—you name it!—you are rejuvenating your spirit.
  3. Feed Your Heart. Call a friend you haven’t spoken to in a long time. Write a letter to a loved one living in a foreign country. Send a care package to a family member in college. Making someone else feel loved and cared for automatically fills you with joy and a sense of goodness.
  4. Feed Your Mind. Start reading a book by an author you’ve never read, or a different genre, or about an unfamiliar subject. Read a new magazine or an out-of-state newspaper. Reading and learning new information will keep your mind strong, flexible, open, and you will be able to converse on any number of topics. Bring on the cocktail parties!
  5. Feed Your Community. Buy $5.00 worth of canned goods and paper products and drop them off at your local community center or a church. Donate old clothes, toys, equipment to a local shelter or orphanage. Volunteer at a soup kitchen, retirement centers, hospitals. We must share Earth, and the world goes ‘round much smoother when we help each other, especially those who are less fortunate.

You can of course contribute yourself by e-mailing me at [email protected]

Hope you are enjoying the blog
