LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly on Tuesday said she was watching data closely to see whether the economy maintains its momentum in the face of headwinds including slowing global growth and geopolitical and trade policy uncertainty.
"Right now, I see the economy in a good place, and policy accommodation in a good place," Daly told reporters after speaking at the Los Angeles World Affairs Council & Town Hall.
As for the headwinds, "the gusting seems to have gone down a little bit on the news of some progress on Brexit, some progress on trade negotiations between the U.S. and China," she said, but her business contacts tell her they will continue to deal with an overarching sense of uncertainty until those issues are fully resolved.
