I've been working on a series of slim canvases, featuring reds and oranges in all of these new abstract paintings. I'm starting with a central image running up and down the length of this vertical shape, with paler colors along the left and right edges. I added highlights in cobalt green, pale blue and pale peach.
After painting with a brush, I used a palette knife for wide strokes of red and orange, and then drew sketchy burnt umber lines for the final touch.
