Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us a fun or fail scene in your current read.I am currently reading The Heiresses by Allison Rushby. I'm half way through (according to my Kindle), but I'm feeling kind of "eh" about it. I'm curious to find out if the girls will be able to get their mother's inheritance from their half-brother, but I'm not really flying through the pages, you know?
One of the fun scenes took place in the beginning of the novel when Thalia (my least favorite sister), first arrives in London. She is looking around at all the fashion and hair styles, compared to her own, and decides to get a mini-makeover. She gets her hair cut in a shingle bob and gets a fiery "look at me" red lipstick.
It's probably you're a-typical country girl moves to the city type thing, but being that it was the 1920s, I thought it was cool because of the switch in how women acted/dressed that made it stand out a lot more in my mind.
