Fearne Cotton has been revealed as the nation’s best-loved celebrity mom. The Radio 1 presenter beat Titanic actress Kate Winslet to claim the 2014 Bounty Celebrity Stork Award as voted for by close to 4,000 British mums.

Blonde Fearne, 32 was hailed for taking eight months off work to ‘bond’ with her young son Rex, before returning to her DJ gig, winning the hearts of the nation’s mums.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon came third, with the Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford fourth.

Gavin & Stacey actress Joanna Page was fifth.

Lisa Penney, spokeswoman for Bounty Parenting Club, said:

“Celebrity mums are often hailed as being the nation’s favourites simply because of their fame and not necessarily because of their personality or parenting skills.

“Fearne is a great example of being a working mother who manages to juggle a successful career whilst maintaining a balance in her family life.

”Real mums identify with this, admiring her down- to-earth approach to parenting and the fact that she doesn’t publicly flaunt her son like the latest accessory.”

The study found Kate Winslet is respected by other mums for her straight-talking, no-nonsense approach to life and the fact that despite her Hollywood career, her children come first.

Alesha Dixon, who was praised for having her feet firmly on the ground, and managing to keep her baby daughter Azura away from the media glare.

Frankie Sandford was praised for taking so easily to motherhood while Joanna Page scored top marks for declaring she was proud of her baby weight and in no hurry to lose it.

Pipped to the post by her bandmate Frankie, singer Rochelle Humes was sixth, closely followed by Shameless star, Tina Malone, who after giving birth at the age of 50 flies the flag for the older mom.

Coleen Rooney, Edith Bowman and Imogen Thomas complete the top 10.

Lisa Penney from Bounty Parenting Club continues:

“Mums really seem to aspire to those mums in the public eye with a down-to-earth approach to raising their families, managing to strike a balance with a successful career.

“Other new mom celebrities who didn’t make the top 10 list so may not be so welcomed at a ‘mummy meet up’ include Katie Price, Peaches Geldof and Jenny Frost.

”That’s not to say these famous mums aren’t good parents, but British mothers seem to be looking for those they believe would be the most approachable to have a coffee and swap parenting tips with.”
