FBI, Burglur Dead, and Leslie Johnson Home from Jail

WMATA offers up a green sacrificial lamb to FBI.  Take Greenbelt!

Ft. Washington Resident shoots burglur dead

Leslie Johnson home from jail

Now I just went to the State of the District address held by Councilman Derrick L. Davis.  He and County Executive Baker seemed really confident that the FBI would be coming to District 6, Largo Town Center stop, but WMATA seems to be more of a contender that team member.  County Executive Baker showed his cards at the State of the District when he said that he wanted the FBI and those jobs in Prince George’s County.  I’m still not sold on the idea because of the Census Bureau’s lousy neighbor policy in place in Suitland.

The Washington Post is reported that the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority have proposed using 78 acres the agency owns at its Greenbelt station to bolster efforts to have a new FBI headquarters built in Prince George’s County.  The real estate committee of Metro’s board of directors is expected to vote Thursday on the proposal.”  That’s a quick turn around on a decision; guess they already know what they have decided.  Metro currently has more than 3,700 parking spaces and 17 bus bays — available for the FBI could give Prince George’s a leg up in the fierce competition to attract the law enforcement agency and as many as 11,000 of its employees.  Metro’s planning staff, in the proposal, reasoned that bringing the FBI to Greenbelt would benefit the transit agency by improving the station’s limited Beltway access, encouraging “reverse commuting” to Prince George’s, increasing ridership at the site and replacing existing facilities at no cost.

A Ft. Washington resident and Alexandria sheriff’s deputy had just arrived home last night in the 10 pm hour,  and discovered his front door damaged. He went inside and was confronted by the suspect. The homeowner shot the suspect, 20 year-old Jon Adgrain Pocknett of the 4000 block of Doncaster Drive in Indian Head.  Pocknett was pronounced dead on scene after he collapsed outside.  A very sad way for a 20 year old young man to leave this earth.  A very unnerving way to return to your home, even if you’re a sheriff’s deputy.  Peace to both families involved.

Leslie Johnson
And in other criminal news, former councilwoman Leslie Johnson is out of  jail after serving 10 months of her year and a day sentence.  I know y’all heard.  Word is she has NO WORDS for the press…right now.  She doesn’t even have a post po-po apology.  WUSA9 caught up with Leslie at the Capitol Area Foodbank where she interviewed with them in hopes of being able to complete her 240 hours of community service there.  It’s only right that people get a chance to live down their past.  Well Leslie, I guess you better get to living.
