Happy Friday Y’all (and Happy early Halloween)! I am so happy it’s the weekend! We are going to a neighborhood block party for Halloween, Mr. S is running the Spartan Beast, and we are going to see Mr. S’s parents. It’s going to be a fun filled weekend with some relaxation dispersed throughout!
I went for a winter neutral color palette today. Basically, it was centered around this beautiful faux fur scarf from WORN. Y’all know I love anything fuzzy. What I love even more is what the scarf stands for. WORN is a company of the Catholic Charities of Fort Worth. Each piece is hand knitted by a woman who has made a new life for herself in the US. {You don’t see the knitted part because it’s under my hair. I forgot to have that part photographed. DOH!} Each tag is “signed” by the person who makes it. I love that.
ONE HUNDRED percent (100%) of WORN’s net profits are used to provide the womens’ wages and supplement other CCFW programs to end poverty in our community. These women have left refugee camps or war-stricken areas to earn for their families while learning to resettle in the States. What a wonderful gesture – create something beautiful to help start a new life for your family. I completely love their mission statement: WORN for PEACE. WORN for HOPE. WORN for FASHION.
Obviously, I feel very passionate about this organization and cause, and the scarf is gorgeous with the different tonal colors. It elevates that sweater dress and add a bit of luxe!
THE STYLE Rx: Feeling bored with your dresses? Throw on a beautiful fur scarf to add some va-va-voom! AND you’ll be LOOKING GOOD and DOING GOOD by purchasing from WORN.
Have you heard of WORN? Do you own any pieces? They also sell knitted baby items on their ETSY shop!
