Father of the Fatherless – Thought for the Day

“Let the righteous be glad, let them exult before God; yes, let them rejoice with gladness. Sing to God, sing a psalm of praise to His Name. Extol Him Who rides upon the skies, whose Name is HaShem and exult before Him; but the wicked shall be troubled by His Presence. A Father of the fatherless and a Protector of the widows, is God in His holy habitation. God makes the lonely and the solitary dwell in a house; He brings out the prisoners into prosperity, but makes the rebellious dwell in a parched land. God, when You went forth before Your people, when You marched through the wilderness . . . the earth trembled, the heavens dropped at the presence of God. Even Mount Sinai trembled at the presence of God, the God of Israel. You shall set aside a bountiful rain for Your inheritance. In it Your flock shall dwell, in Your goodness You have provided for the poor, O God” (Ps 68:4-11).
