Following shows with Jeffrey Lewis and Marth and ahead of a couple of appearances supporting Mannequin Pussy and Cocaine Piss, Newcastle band Fast Blood have shared debut single ‘You’. It’s the first track to be taken from a four-song EP that will be released in early 2020.
Clocking in just under three minutes, the song combines elements of more intelligent emo with punky riffs and a bass-led breakdown that underpins the vital message about being there for loved ones, no matter how tough a time they are having: ‘This year has been hard for you and I’ll be there and you’ll pull through, I feel the same way you do’. It makes it clear this is even more vital when the subject does the same for you and you’ll want to sing along to the impassioned pleas of ‘I’ll go anywhere with you’.
