Fashion Ideas, The Christmas Party DressHi there! My name is Amy Marie and I blog for the online boutique, Scarlett Fashion. We also run a brand blog which you can have a nosy at here. Tasha has kindly allowed me to guest post for Hello Freckles today, which is exciting because this is one of my favorite blogs.

Can you believe Christmas is almost here already? I swear it was five minutes since I was preparing for last years festivities and my daughter's first Christmas. Now I'm almost dreading putting the tree up as I don't have a baby this year, but a toddler who is attracted to shiny things. Although as much as I love Christmas, it is a time of year that brings great stress.. trying to find extra money for Christmas shopping, deciding what dessert to make and of course, the old chestnut.. what to wear on nights out over the festive period.. do I go with the LBD, the lace body con or something more festive like velvet for instance? Such choices for us 21st century ladies and who wants to be wandering around town wrapped up to the nines dodging the crowds trying to find that perfect dress.

So today I'm sharing with you six of my absolute favourites. I live in a small town where the only clothes shops are New Look and a Dorothy Perkin's that shares it's floor space with Burtons, so these are all from various places around the web. I've included all the top festive season trends such as velvet, lace, embellished and in various styles like body con, skater etc so I'm sure there is something for everyone (unless you don't like dresses, then sadly I don't think this post will appeal much!) But if you want a new dress for your staff night out, below, I have six of the best.

Fashion Ideas, The Christmas Party Dress

New Look Black Embellished Lace Skater Dress, £24.99 // H&M Sequin Embroidered Dress, £19.99 // River Island Light Pink Embellished Two In One Mini Dress, £50 // Miss Selfridge Teal Lace Body Con Dress, £35 // Topshop Velvet Cut Out Skater Dress, £38 // Yumi Night At The Opera Lace Dress, £45

Going left to right. The dress from New Look is the second cheapest but it has everything a Christmas party dress should, lace, embellishment and flattering skater style. I bet it would look wonderful with a sparkly collar necklace. For £24.99 if you only wear it for a few Christmas parties, it wouldn't be the end of the world. Next is the cheapest dress from my selection, at only £19.99 from H&M it's a complete steal! Gorgeous colour, a nice change from black with a chiffon skirt and a sequin top.. paired with a faux fur stole to keep you warm in the winter cold, big glamor for a little price. At the moment I'm a little obsessed with 20s style, and with the release of The Great Gatsby on DVD the high street is full of 20s inspired party dresses. This one from River Island is one of my absolute favourites! I love the colours of the bejewelled top with the scalloped edge. I also like the fact it doesn't have short sleeves, the t-shirt style is very flattering on someone post baby (like myself). It's a bit steep at £50 but with the colours it's something you could even wear along with the summer pastels. Body con is an old favorite for Christmas, although I personally find it a bit unforgiven should you be having a meal first, but the fact that this Miss Selfridge dress is covered in lace makes it a bit more flattering. However, if you have the body for body con, GO FOR IT! There is nothing sexier to impress that office crush than a figure hugging dress. I love a velvet dress at Christmas, in fact last Christmas day I wore a velvet skater dress.. this is why this Topshop dress caught my eye. The color is so unique, it might have to be this years Christmas day dress as £38 is more than affordable. Finally, if you are having a more sophisticated Christmas, I really love this Yumi dress that is aptly named Night at the Opera. The lace top is just gorgeous with a festive green.. and the dipped skirt is really on trend. It's a bit pricey at £45 but if you can't splash out at Christmas, when can you? What will you be wearing this Christmas? Did any of these dresses inspire you? Thanks Tasha for having me to guest post!
