Athurugiriya Police arrested a driver working in a poultry farm for robbing money from the farm owner’s father after throwing chili powder on his face.
The driver’s wife and another woman have also been arrested
by the police for aiding and abetting this driver to commit this crime.Police say that Rs. 186,000 was stolen by the driver.
The police had arrested the three suspects after the 71-year-old farm owner’s father had lodged a complaint regarding the theft.
In his complaint, he said while on his way to purchase chicken feed with the driver, he had stopped the lorry near the Mahawela Bridge, thrown chili powder on his face and robbed the money in his possession.
