Carey Mulligan looking all pensive and pretty.

Carey Mulligan doing sticky eyes with Matthias Schoenaerts.

A scene in an exciting period movie based on a book by a celebrated novelist!
Based on the novel of the same title by Thomas Hardy, “Far From the Madding Crowd” tells the story of Bathsheeba Everdene, a headstrong woman who attracts three very different but very determined suitors: Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts), a sheep farmer, captivated by her willfulness; Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge), a handsome and reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen), a prosperous and mature bachelor. Let's just say I can relate very much with Bathsheeba-- her willfulness, her avant garde choices in her fight for independence, her romantic relationships, her perseverance, etc. etc. ad nauseum. “She is a modern woman,” Mulligan says of her character, “and I think it is an extraordinary feat by Hardy to write somebody like that, and to enjoy her ‘otherness’. You can see in the writing that he is taking a real joy in writing this different, obtuse, rebellious woman. She isn’t like the people who surround her. She is different.”Great News: “Far From the Madding Crowd” opens on July 8!
Nice trailer right??
