Fantasy Film Casting – Don’t Look Now

By Newguy

Let’s Recast a Film

You know how us film fans always want to recast a film, well today we play the role of producer and this script has turned up on our desk. The next job is to cast the film as if it the year is 2016, the rules are as simple you can’t use anyone who is in the original film however good or bad you think the film is. So without further ado let’s cast this movie.

Film: Don’t Look Now

casting card

Original Cast: Julie Christie, Donald Sutherland, Hilary Mason, Clelia Matania

New Cast: Jena Malone, Paul Dano, William Fichtner, Joan Allen

Why I have picked this star:

Julie Christie – Jena Malone – Laura Baxter

jena
Jena is one of the best actresses in Hollywood today she stole the show in the later Hunger Games films and while she does have a few horrors in the past this horror drama could work perfectly with Paul.

Donald Sutherland – Paul Dano – John Baxter

dano
Paul is one of the best actors in Hollywood today and one genre we have yet to see him take on his horror and for this role I think it would be fair to say we don’t want to see someone who has been in too many if any horrors before for this role.

Hilary Mason – William Fichtner – Heather/Heath?

wiliiam
I would like to change this character into a male making it a brother sister combination. William is one of the most reliable actors in Hollywood always playing the interesting characters and his own we will get an interesting take on it.

Clelia Matania – Joan Allen – Wendy

joan
Joan has been nominated or 3 Oscars in her career that shows just how good of an actress she is, in this role she would be the eyes for the Heather character and we all know Joan can fill a supporting role with ease as we saw last year with Room.

How will this change the film: I have decided to try and keep the ability of the actor at the top level for any remake of his classic but have decided to make the sisters a brother sister combination. I want to keep most of this the same otherwise.

Will you be going to see this new version of the film?
Who would you rather see in this film?
