The skiing season in Gulmarg normally starts around the middle of December and lasts until the middle of April. Gulmarg hosted the first Indian National Winter Games in January-February 1998, with greatly expanded and renovated facilities. Tourists can also be guided by professionally trained teachers. Gulmarg is an excellent place to learn to ski because it is the world’s cheapest ski resort.
