Saturday was a gorgeous day and we drove to Piedmont Park to enjoy the park, sunshine and lunch. Lily and Harper are 11 months apart and seeing them get to know one another is such a blessing. They giggle, hold hands and talk in their own secret babble language. They just get one another even only seeing each other a few times a year. We had a great afternoon and the girls loved running around. After a long morning and mid afternoon, we ventured back to our home for a parents night out.

We met up with our friends Kimberly and Michael for a date night at The Pig and the Pearl, a cute restaurant in Mid-Town that has a raw bar and smokehouse . Of course we had to share a plate of raw oysters to start the night and I ended up ordering an amazing shrimp and grits entree. You have to get it when you visit. It was incredible.

Afterwards we took my in laws to another favorite place for dessert and a late night coffee at Cafe Intermezo. No night is complete without some chocolate, whip cream and a delicious drink am I right? Of course I am.

Sunday came earlier then expect but we ventured out for to the Taste of Marietta that shares local food tasting of the town. It was extremely hot and sticky but the girls did great and even burned some energy at a bouncy house. Lily also enjoyed a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone, probably because it was nice and cold due to the heat. The cousins took a long nap while the rest of us cleaned, got things ready for the week and laughed of how far we've come of knowing one another in the last 10 years.

As usual, the weekends always go by so fast and we said our goodnights and goodbyes as we got ready for work and they were going to be getting up early to drive the 14 hours back to Iowa. We were so happy to have them spend time with us and visiting our home. Hope you all had a great weekend.
What did you do this weekend?Do you get to see your loved ones a lot?
