Family Time

family time
Hello folks! Hope you've all had a lovely weekend, especially those of you who go back to school/college teaching tomorrow - sigh! I've been back at work a week already, talk about shock to the system. This weekend couldn't come sooner enough!

Yesterday my Dad and I went to the Alresford country show - we go almost every year as my Dad's company are involved with the show, and had a lovely time checking out the livestock, horses and other farmyard paraphernalia! Every year I take great pleasure in finding my inner child and climbing on the tractors and combine harvesters (they are huge), embarrassingly this year I actually had to race a small child to get first dibs. No shame. My dad bought me this pretty impressive furry hat as an early birthday present - I like to think I look like a Russian princess.

Later on Saturday, Rich and I went to Winchester en route to my parents' house to pick up a couple of birthday presents (it is my birthday next week, as well as my sister in law's and then my brothers!) and stopped for a cuppa and lunch in town. In the cafe we could hear, but not see, some hideous teenagers comparing their sexual exploits and drunken antics (interspersed with lots of swearing) and everyone else exchanging disgusted looks... when we left I turned the corner and discovered I taught the one female in the group. We exchanged knowing looks, and I like to think she was mortified... but knowing her I expect not. This is why I moved away from where I teach!Last night we had a family meal at my parents' house and got to see little William, my gorgeous nephew. He particularly liked Rich and enjoyed sucking on his arm for most of the afternoon! For pudding we had birthday cake(s) and managed to make the baby cry with our singing. This will be my first birthday away from home and my parents (...at 25!!) as it's always been out of uni term-time etc, which will definitely be strange, but can't wait to spend it with Rich in our little flat! Today? Rich is out watching the football, so I am catching up on Casualty (guilty pleasure) and the X factor and getting ready for teaching tomorrow. Boo to Sundays!Hope you all had a gorgeous weekend!
