NBC-
The Voice is still doing good numbers on Monday/Tuesday. The Blacklist is winning its timeslot, and was the first show (technically) to be rewarded with a back-nine pickup. Chicago Fire is also doing solid numbers on Tuesday. Revolution needs to regain some audience members if it wants a second season. With the success of The Blacklist, and Chicago Fire doing OK, Revolution is looking to be one of NBC’s weaker points right now. I can’t see it not running the full second season, but it might not get a third. Also, Ironside is definitely going to get cancelled. The premiere was so low, and it’ll still drop from that. It’s the weakest link in NBC’s lineup, and it will be their first cancellation. The Michael J Fox Show and Sean Saves The World aren’t bringing in huge numbers, but compared to the 8PM comedies, they’re doing OK. The bar is low for NBC Thursday, and both MJF and Sean will stay put the whole season. I can’t say the same for the forgettable Welcome To The Family, which can’t even maintain the audience from Parks and Rec. Parenthood is doing OK at 10PM.
CBS-
We Are Men dipped in week two, and is already below Partners (which occupied the same timeslot last year). It would make sense to axe We Are Men, and either bring back Mike and Molly (which has a full season order), move Mom (which is performing terribly), or rerun The Crazy Ones (and help get the show an even larger audience on Thursdays). All three are more viable options than keeping We Are Men, which is adding nothing to the timeslot, and making it harder for 2 Broke Girls to regain the audience lost. I’m not sure if Mom can get a full-season order anymore. The ratings aren’t very good, but CBS might give it a vote of confidence (but it HAS to come with a new timeslot). Hostages hit a series low. I can’t see CBS cancelling Hostages, but I could see Hostages shifting to Fridays in favor of Hawaii Five-O which has already performed better in that same timeslot last season. Luckily, their Tuesdays are super-solid. They are untouchable on that night. Person Of Interest has really benefited from the flop of Lucky 7. CBS Wednesday is a bunch of old shows, that are still managing to reel in viewers. The Millers started off OK. Compared to Mom and We Are Men, it’s got a better shot at a full season right now. The Crazy Ones is still a huge bright spot for them. CBS Friday is strong. CBS’s Sunday is constantly changing because of football, but the numbers are alright. I suspect The Mentalist is near the end.
ABC-
Nothing exciting on Monday. Dancing With The Stars and Castle are both solid performers. Agents of SHIELD dropped a lot from Week 1 to Week 2. It really needs to stabilize before the network can begin talking about a full season. If this show gets cancelled, it is a very high-profile failure, so I really can’t see ABC not letting it run a full season (just in case) and trying everything to make it work. The Goldbergs benefits from SHIELD as a lead in, and unless they flip it with Trophy Wife, will likely get a full season. Trophy Wife could go either way. Hopefully ABC will move it. Lucky 7 was the first axe of the season. Back In The Game is retaining a good audience from The Middle, and should receive a full season. If Super Fun Night doesn’t lose a lot of viewers this week from its premiere, it will probably also get a full season. Scandal is higher than ever right now, and we’ll see how Once Upon A Time In Wonderland does this week. Last Man Standing and The Neighbors aren’t doing too bad. Once Upon A Time is down, but it still outpaces Revenge (which might end this season), and Betrayal (which might end this week).
FOX-
Sleepy Hollow has lost some viewers from its premiere, but it still actually builds on Bones, which is a really hard thing for a freshman show to do. It’s already been rewarded with a second season pickup. FOX has already asked for more scripts of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which is a positive note. I think they might stick with it. It performs almost on par with The New Girl. Dads actually has more viewers than The Mindy Project, so it might sneak a full season too, but I’ll put Dads as “could go either way”. I can’t see FOX doing a fourth season of The X-Factor. Glee is down. Luckily it already has a renewal for a final season next year, otherwise FOX might have announced that this was the last season. Junior Masterchef is doing well enough to finish its run, but I doubt we see a second go of it. FOX’s Animation Domination is all locked in for next season already, I believe (maybe not American Dad yet).
THE CW-
Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie both returned down from last season. Both shows were considered “bubble shows” and were basically sent to die on Mondays. If the CW cared about either, they would have attempted to pair them with one of their stronger shows. Supernatural and The Originals on Tuesday are a solid pairing. The Originals will definitely get a full season, as the bar for the CW is incredibly low. Arrow is a strong point for them on Wednesday. Hopefully it can successfully launch The Tomorrow People. The Vampire Diaries is down a bit this season, but again, the bar is so low here.
My Prediction For The Next Cancellation: We Are Men
Followed By: Ironside, then probably Betrayal. ABC already has 1 cancellation, and won’t have two back-to-back cancellations before anyone else even drops an axe.
