The popular video game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will use the same anti-cheat system as Fortnite, its developer announced. The British company, Mediatonic, said the update will be rolled out within the next two weeks.
Since the game's launch in August, players have found ways to cheat, such as flying or running faster than the default settings.
The developer apologized and thanked the fans for their patience.
"We are really sorry for the problem of cheating",
"We are expanding the current detection system this week to make things better.
"We also have a big update in the next couple of weeks that adds the same anti-cheat used by games like Fortnite."
Fortnite developer Epic Games has taken legal action against some players for cheating.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout players select a jellybean character that they can customize with many different outfits to compete in a giant, colorful obstacle course.
Each game starts with 60 players and is divided into five rounds of minigames.
After each round, the losing players are removed from the game until only one player remains as the winner.
It is currently only available to play on Microsoft Windows and Sony PlayStation 4, but has already become the most downloaded game so far on the PlayStation Plus online gaming service.
The game sold more than seven million units on Steam for PC within the first month of launch and rarely made it to the top of the charts.
Mediatonic - founded by Dave Bailey and Paul Croft in 2005, their senior year at Brunel University - has offices in London, Brighton and Madrid.
