Fall [Faux] Leather

It’s definitely that time of year again where fall fashion seems to be on my brain non-stop! It usually starts beginning to mid August for me and culminates with the September mags and New York Fashion Week. It’s something so exciting and exhilarating about the change in seasons, new trends, and new fall goodies hitting the stores! While most places with normal climates are experiencing some semblance of fall like weather, here in the Big Easy it’s bound to be hot/warm for at least another 2 to 3 months. I know – major bummer. Especially for someone like myself who lives and breathes for the change in seasons and the new fashions it brings about!

Since I live in such a warm, humid climate I like to look for pieces that can transition with me into the upcoming early fall months but won’t leave me sweltering. Faux leather pieces are one of the absolute best ways to make the transition in my opinion. The fabric gives off the vibes of fall, but the shorter hemlines and shapes keep you cool. When it gets colder, just throw on some tights underneath and add a great bootie and you have an instant outfit! I love this roundup of faux leather items from some of my favorite stores! The skater dress arrived at my door about a week ago, and I couldn’t be more pleased with it. It’s one of those pieces that looks more expensive than it really is, but is still really well made – making it a great bang for my buck! Next on my list is definitely the shorts and tee in faux leather. Such good transition items and the prices are amazing! What do you think of faux leather as a transition piece?
