The Red Flag exercises at Nellis are a wondrous event with participants coming from all over the US and overseas to hone their air combat skills in a realistic threat environment. In 2010, the International Society for Aviation Photography facilitated a rare opportunity for photographers to be situated near the active runways. Here a Nellis-based Warthog returns after a sortie. These exercises have been taking place here since 1975 and the adjacent Nevada Test and Training Range allows for the use of live munitions.
