Some things in life just make me happy. An extra large serving of Victoria sponge cake (champagne on the side), giant fluffy blankets, hot chocolate (with whipped cream, marshmallows, sprinkles and a flake of course) and face moisturiser. The newest addition to my epic skincare regime is the Vitamine E Aqua Boost Sorbet. I’ve been testing out The Body Shop’s face and body sorbets this week and quite frankly I’m in love. Not only is this some of the prettiest packaging to grace my beauty collection, the products themselves are just as scrumptious as I’d hoped.
*Vitamine E Aqua Boost Sorbet £12
If there’s one product I can’t live without it’s face moisturiser. I had to forego my morning moisturising regime today due to a necessary spray tan appointment and I’m still a bit sulky about it. I’m already counting the hours until I can slather some on. The Vitamine E Aqua Boost Sorbet has been on my bedside table for the last few nights and my skin has never felt more hydrated. It reminds me of the Clinique Moisture Surge as it’s the same color and a similar consistency but it’s a third of the price. Now that I’m pushing 30 *cries in a corner* I choose my skincare very carefully and take more notice of the ingredients. At the moment anything that contains vitamins or anti-aging properties has my name all over it. The Body Shop claims that this little gem provides all day hydration and it certainly doesn’t disappoint.
*Mango Body Sorbet £8
We all know that good things come in small packages but it turns out that big packages shouldn’t be discarded either. I’d seen the body sorbets floating around on Instagram and Twitter and instantly put them on my wish list. I wanted one before I even knew what they were. However, it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. I couldn’t wait to slather on the mango body sorbet and I was prepared to instantly love it but at first it just seemed a little lumpy. Unlike richer body lotions that glide on and absorb immediately, this one sits on top of the skin for a few seconds and just when you think you’ll be rubbing it in forever, it sinks in leaving silky soft skin in its place. I don’t have really dry skin but I do tend to opt for thick buttery creams rather than lightweight lotions. One of my favorite things about this moisturiser is that it’s really refreshing. It would be a great product to pack in your suitcase when jetting off for some summer sun.
Of course, everyone looks for different things in a moisturiser but don’t discount this refreshing potion just because you tend to opt for rich buttery creams. As it is quite cooling and sorbet like I can’t imagine the body sorbet will quench extremely thirsty skin as well as a thicker cream but it does claim to offer 24 hour hydration. If you don’t love overly fragrant products maybe give this one a miss. It’s positively tropical and the mango scent does linger, however, for mango lovers like me this is just another reason to love the body sorbet collection. The strawberry one is next on my list!
Have you tried the sorbet collection? Leave me a comment!
