Seasonal trends don’t only come and go in our closets and in the stores. In fact, one of the best places to look for trends is the red carpet! Granted, you don’t wear a silk gown every day nor do you get glamorous as all get out, but red carpet fashion greatly dictates the colors, materials, textures, silhouettes, necklines, and more than you will be investing in for the season. For instance, in Annie’s Emmy’s fashion brief post on Tuesday, she pointed out all of the fabulous red gowns which should hint to us that red is the color to be in this season, even in something as casual as a cardigan!
Last awards show season we were left under-whelmed and bored with celebrity jewelry choices on the red carpet. Or should we say, lack of jewelry choices, because there was hardly any bling to fawn over. The minimal trend had spilled over from clothing to accessories and it showed on the red carpet. Well after the Emmy’s this past weekend, we are pleased to see that that phase has passed! Celebrities took advantage of the ultra-glamorous red carpet setting to show off some stunning necklaces, unique earrings and bold bracelets. In fact, not one style of jewelry went unnoticed! With all of those baubles you know we have some fabulous finds to get A-list looks for less!
The hostess with the most-ess Jane Lynch was elegant as can be in a custom David Meister evening gown in a deep eggplant purple. Purple is really Jane’s color! While I would have preferred a necklace to accessorize her sweetheart neckline, her earrings are just gorgeous and you know we love a good stacked bangle look. Jane’s earrings remind us of our Blue Zircon Large Chandelier Earrings that we love for Fall because of the bold color combination!
Another great pair of earrings we saw at the Emmy’s was the pair Rashida Jones was wearing with her dusty pink Alberta Ferretti tulle gown. Instead of taking the easy route with silver or diamond earrings, the actress added a pop of emerald green color to her ensemble. She was vintage Hollywood glamour from head to toe! For the same colors and silhouette as Rashida’s earrings, check out our Dionysis Beaded Jewels Blue and Emerald Chandelier Earrings that are versatile as can be and will only set you back $16 dollars!
But not all stars went for pop colors, in fact some celebrities, like Kelly Osbourne kept things monochrome for a powerful statement style. Kelly O looked darling in a dark purple mermaid gown by J. Mendel that fit her like a glove! A purple clutch, lighter purple earrings and light as can be hair that almost reflects a lilac hue, we think she made monochrome far from boring. We like 1928’s Deep Amethyst Teardrop Dangle Earrings for a purple pair like Kelly’s.
All eyes were on the beautiful Jennifer Carpenter who never fails to impress at the Emmy’s. Jennifer showed off her fab legs in a Tony Ward silver sequined dress with a thigh-high slit. This bombshell look doesn’t need much jewelry to distract or clutter, so she went with a sleek pair of diamond dangle earrings, although we wish she took advantage of all of the silver metallic pieces we are seeing at the moment. Add a modern, flirty touch to any outfit of yours with our Stardust Silver Drops Long Dangle Earrings.
For being only 20 years old, Sarah Hyland pulled off a custom made Christian Siriano gown with grace! We love the coral pink color on her and think the silver accents make it youthful and totally trendy! I have always been a fan of cuff style bracelets being worn higher up on your forearm and this style was the perfect jewelry choice for Sarah’s dress. Get our Art Deco Crystal Floral Motif Bracelet to rock the same look.
Custom gowns seemed to be all the rage this year at the Emmy’s. Another starlet who played princess for the night was Lea Michele who was one of the many, many celebrities to match the red carpet. Her draped back Marchesa gown with adorable rose shoulders was as perfect a shade of red as ever and she made the right choice not to distract from that one-of-a-kind dress by keeping her accessories to a minimum. One large cocktail ring and Lea was blowing kisses all night! Need a silver and black ring to wear with your red this fall? 1928 has just the style you’re looking for on our Silver & Black Western Floral Ring. While Lea looked sweet in her red dress, it was Nina Dobrev who brought the va-va-voom for a show-stopping moment on the red carpet. Her flawless look was by far my favorite of the evening, and for a lesser known celeb, we’re sure that will be changing real fast! In a Donna Karan Resort 2012 gown and Neil Lane Diamond jewelry, you can get Nina’s jewelry look for much less! Our best selling Bridal Art Deco Revival Eternity Necklace is a timeless investment piece we all could use to spoil ourselves with. And its still got a much more fab price tag than that Neil Lane necklace on Nina!Second to red, the other color of the evening seemed to be electric blue! Diana Agron showed up in an unexpected but perfectly polished look wearing a draped Roksanda Illincic gown and Fred Leighton jewelry. Her earrings are almost an exact match to our De Luca Gold Mighty Shield Earrings which we’ve blogged about on many occasions already. That being said, why haven’t you picked up your own pair yet!?
Another babe in blue was Claire Danes who wore a sequined Oscar de la Renta blue patchwork dress from the 2012 Resort collection. Again with perfect styling choices, the busy dress needed nothing more than a bold pair of black earrings. Get Ms. Danes’ look with the Montana Blue Teardrop Window Filigree Earrings. The dark blue color of the stone and jet black base make them easy to match with a lot!
And there you have it—our Emmy Awards red carpet recap with enough fab finds to hopefully inspire some shopping for the Fall season! Have a fabulous Friday jewelry gals!
