I haven’t had much time to wade through the thousand photos I’ve taken between three cameras in two days, and there’s still one day to go — Race Day is tomorrow. Yesterday was preliminary stuff: practices, scrutineering (inspections), registrations, and tests. Today was for more practice and qualifying sessions, and in one of those sessions an F1 boat went airborne and crashed, tearing off a part and leaving the driver unhurt. I overheard one crewmember call the crash a “blowover” and it’s apparently rather common since the boat is hardly touching the water.
It’s supposed to be Nadir Bin Hendi‘s debut in F1H2O, driving for Victory Team of UAE. They’re still trying to fix the boat in time for the race on Sunday afternoon.
