With the kids out of school for the next few weeks, I wanted to put together an extended spring break schedule to keep everyone sane. Since it’s not recommended to head out to public places and in large crowds, we will probably be home for most of the foreseeable future.
Who knows if we’ll be able to stick with this everyday for the next 3 weeks but I’m going to do my best to try! We made a run to the Dollar Tree last night and picked up a few things to keep them occupied.
We grabbed things like:
Workbooks
Pencils
Flash cards
Puzzles
Popsicle sticks
Beads
String
Whiteboards
Dry Erase markers
And here’s how I plan to structure their days:
Extended Spring Break Schedule
8:00-9:00:Wake up, eat breakfast, make bed, get dressed
9:00-9:30: Journal, coloring, letter of the day
9:30-10:15: Academic time: workbooks, flash cards, worksheets
10:15-10:30- Snack
10:30-11:30- Creative time: Crafts, coloring, Legos, Magnatiles
11:30-12:00- Lunch
12:00-12:30- Recess
12:30-1:00- Reading
1:00-2:00- ABC Mouse, Prodigy, Sumdog, Mystery Science
2:00-3:00- Quiet time, free time on iPad in room
3:00-3:30- Chores
3:30-5:30: Play outside or in house
5:30-6:00-Dinner
6:00-8:00 TV/movie, showers
8:00 BEDTIME
9:00 BEDTIME (if followed schedule +listened during the day)
I wanted to make sure to give them breaks and recess (I’m not a teacher so this is going to be a learning curve for all of us!) as well as some creative time and academic time. The first two weeks they aren’t expected to do any work, and then the third week they will have materials from their teachers. So for now, I’ll be turning to the workbooks and Google to fill this time. But then for the third week (and who knows how long after), these slots should be filled with work from their teachers.

Again, I’m not a teacher, just a regular mom who wants to try and keep somewhat of a routine and normalcy for the kids. These are scary times and uncharted waters and we’re all just doing our best to get by and stay safe! Good luck mamas!! xo
