Every now and then, I come across articles featuring outlandish (but real) excuses employees have given to their employers for being late or absent. The latest article I just read on Inc.com lists 9 reasons for being late that employees have reportedly given for being late to work and I laughed out loud. I was at work when I read it and I turned to my supervisor, who sits right behind me, and told her I was going to use one of them the next time I was late and she looked at me, giving me that “are you insane” look then laughed.
