Playground Festival 2021 – what to know
This weekend sees Playground 2021 happen, bet you didn’t think we’d see that!? Have you got a ticket and are you looking to find out what to expect at this year’s festival? If yes, then read on!
When is Playground Festival 2021?
Playground Festival 2021 takes place over the weekend of Friday 24th, Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th September 2021. The gates open at 2 pm and close at 11 pm each day.
Where is Playground Festival 2021?
Playground 2021 is held within Rouken Glen Park, which is in East Renfrewshire, just to the south of Glasgow.
The box office is at near the entrance for the garden center and The Courtyard Indian restaurant.

A negative lateral flow test is required to gain entry to Playground Festival 2021.
Test kits are available from chemists and you can order them online.
Once you have taken your lateral flow test, upload your result to the Government Covid Result Website and they will email and text you a confirmation of your result. This is what you show to the staff to gain entry to the festival.

The entrance / box office is near Rouken Glen Garden Centre. So if you are coming from Whitecraigs Station, it’s on the opposite side of the park! (but then you get a nice walk around the park)
Cashless
This has been a controversial point online. We tried out the cashless fobs last weekend at the Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival and found them to be handy. There’s no need to worry about losing a debit card when slightly merry. The fob was part of the wristband so easy to beep to pay. Top up was easy as well, the woman at the desk we spoke to said the minimum top-up was 50p and you can claim back any unspent money as long as it’s over £1.
Food and Drink
There will be food and drink available, we don’t know all the trucks but there will be a selection of bars with Brewdog, other craft beers and wines, spirits and soft drinks etc.
How much will I need to spend?
The food last week was around £6-£9 per portion so we expect the same again, and drinks started at £6 (or £3 for a half pint) so do your budget calculations based on that and how many days you are there for!
