#EverydayPortugal, Month 9

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy
#EverydayPortugal, Month 9 At the end of October 2018 I started a weekly series on my Facebook page called Everyday Portugal, with a #EverydayPortugal, Month 9installing calçadas in Funchal, Madeira so I could find the collection. The series consists of little anecdotes about living in Portugal, accompanied by a picture from my phone. The individual anecdotes were too small for a blog post, but the right size for a Facebook post. Now that I've got a collection, I'm publishing them monthly here. https://www.citylab.com/design/2018/10/lisbons-beautiful-dangerous-sidewalks/573643/

#29: Art underfoot. Look, but don't fall!

Like Month 8 there was only one post for this month, so I'm expanding it with more examples. These are all pics and videos from my phones - except one DSLR image - shot around the country. If you've ever seen workers installing calçadas, you'll see how much time and labour it takes to create these mosaics.

This is the BEST article about calçadas in Lisbon I've ever come across:

I posted about the article on the Facebook page, check out the comments:
