Loved Rockfish Games original Rogue-Squadron-like Kickstarter release Everspace?
Well, Everspace 2 is beginning production soon with a full release in 2021.
What is different about the sequel then? It's still Everspace but it's been stripped of its limited-choice jump-nodes interface... it's basically gone GFF or Galactic Free Form with some stunning accelerated transit modes shown. It's still single player, for now, though the team has hinted at 'stretch goals' if funding breaks their half-million quid target. Space legs, team and/or full online play are the three most obvious stretch goals Rockfish could include but this will add all kinds of lag, tech and storage issues to a game that's basically a frantic and thrilling twitch-shooter.
Everspace 2 is looking real sweat in trailer form (below) and there's a distinct suggestion of atmospheric flight combat. I kinda like the purity, and if they can keep the pace of gameplay high, every other enhancement is just Gravy.
