On Sunday night the twelfth Scottish Hotel Awards took place at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Glasgow, presented by Fred MacAuley, the evening also included entertainment from the Dolls, Bags of Rock and Anthony Costa from the boy band Blue.
It was a great night and well-attended, though in true awards ceremony fashion some of the winners couldn’t make it to collect their awards! And though the amount of awards handed out on the night was lower than previous years there’s still too many in our opinion!
Scottish Hotel Awards – Auchrannie resort
Auchrannie in Arran was the big winner on the night winning the grand award of Scottish Hotel of the Year plus Island Hotel of the Year and Family Hotel of the Year.
We’ve yet to visit Auchrannie but it’s a place we’ve thought about visiting for a while as we’ve heard nothing but good reports. The island of Arran, often described as “Scotland in miniature” is a place we love and if you’re a tourist with limited time in Scotland then Arran may be the ideal place to pack in castles, mountains, standing stones, whisky, ales, golf and an award-winning spa hotel!
