Eve Owen has shared the video (directed by her sister, Hannah) for ‘So Still For You’ ahead of the release of her debut album ‘Don’t Let the Ink Dry’ on 37d03d on 8 May. The record, produced by Aaron Dessner (The National), is already one of the most eagerly anticipated of the year and it’s easy to see why.
Opening with a subtle yet goosebump-inducing folk sound that will appeal to fans of Sharon Van Etten, Bon Iver and Big Thief, ‘So Still For You’ finds Eve talking candidly about her emotions and revealing how her heart ‘stays so still for you’. She continues to ask questions of the subject (‘Did you ever even know?’) before soon focusing on her own well-being and looking ahead to brighter things (‘My red boots were made for walking) as stirring strings, harmonised vocals and subtle acoustic strums combine with touching effect.
