Congratulations to Atlético Madrid fans… they have won the Europa League for a second time in the last three years.

Here’s Diego’s goal

@2010misterchip ALL-TIME RECORD – @Atleti es the first club ever to win 12 consecutive matches in European Competitions history.

85′- DIEGOOOO! Atléti are Europa League champs! Great individual play and Amorebieta got abused while Javi Martínez supervises. Great play by Diego Ribas da Cunha! 3-0

82′- Arda Turan has to go off as he is bleeding. Atlético will be short handed for the next few minutes.

80′- Falcao just unstoppable. Slices up the Athletic defense and the post denies him the hat-trick.

Falcao post

79′- Susaeta yet again. Courtois stones him and Athletic still looking for their first goal.

78′- Arda Turan with a brilliant give and go. His chip shot easily stopped by Iraizoz.

Atlético very well shaped inthe middle, blocking anything and Mario Suárez solid match.

74′- Adríán with slaloming run and touched from behind by Iñigo Pérez. Freekick rather tame.

73′- Ibai steals ball from Juanfran and shot parried by Courtois. Rebound to De Marcos over crossbar. Athletic not precise, Atlético waiting for counter.

Game in a lull and Athletic showing that when they don’t have anyone in the middle and their passing game they are rather tame.

Currently trending in Colombia on Twitter #YoQuieroLosGuayosDelTigre

70′- Tough break for Athletic and Ibai’s shot goes over the crossbar.

67′- Atlético freekick from the left and Diego sends a souvenir for the fans. Still 2-0.

65′- Llorente limping and Athletic are out of subs.

64′- Amorebieta getting a yellow card for his challenge on Falcao.

63′- Toquero comes in for an ineffective Ander Herrera

62′- Athletic look impotent. Bielsa going for the last ace off the bench in Gaizka Toquero.

60′- Courtois taps the ball over for a corner.

Atlético once again dominating proceedings and Bielsa’s subs haven’t worked out up to now.

Second half begins and Iker Muniain with a run, crosses the ball into the middle and Joao Miranda knockes it out for a corner. House of fire early on.

Ibai Gómez comes in for Jon Aurtenetxe to begin the first half. Ander Iturraspe leaves for Íñigo Pérez.

Here is the call from Colombian radio of Radamel Falcao García’s  second goal

Falcao ‘s second goal

HALFTIME in Bucharest and Radamel Falcao García is absolutely dominating today.  Many could say it could be a defining performance in his Atlético career.

43′- Falcao continues his exhibition… this time he goes rightfooted and almost makes it a hat-trick.  Still 2-0.

Check out Falcao’s second goal…

Atlético with less possession, but have been more effective with the ball.

40′- Falcao crashes into Gorka Iraizoz.

There is still time.  Arda Turan has been invisible so far, although right now not a factor.  If he’s incorporated it could be end game.

Falcao again… WHAT.  A. GOLAZO!!!  Just making Amorebieta and Aurtenetxe.   Atlético really putting their foot on Athletic’s throat.   2-0 at 33′.

Athletic dominating possession at this point.  Atlético just hoping for the best, but really have to see Bart Simpson really start to step.

Athletic now finding out how to crack Atlético’s defense.  Going wide is keeping Atlético honest on defense so far.

25′- atlético starting to show some liabilities in the back.  Athletic very dangerous in this recent stage.

23′- Diego’s freekick cleared out by Llorente who was on the wall.

22′- Falcao spectacular so far and a tremendous shot that Diego took.  Free kick for Atlético.

19′- Streakers stop play.

10′- Controversy as Diego Godín does not get called for a foul on Fernando Llorente.  Athletic looking to respond.

Check out Falcao’s goal.

GOLAZO FALCAO!!!!!!!!!!!  Tremendous curling shot beats Gorka Iraizoz.  He’s the leading scorer of the Europa League.

The factor of the pitch will be important to look at, very wet surface.  It rained intensely in Bucharest and the pitch was also watereed prior to kickoff…

We’re going to get started with coverage of the Europa League final.

Atlético being more aggressive and proactive!.

2′- Atlético with a chance early on.
