The Thief Lord

This exciting movie is derived from a best-selling novel Herr der Diebe by a German author Cornelia Funke. The story revolves around two boys who fled from their abusive aunt and went to Venice. There, they meet the mysterious “Thief Lord” named Scipio, and that’s where their adventure begins!

This film has an English version, and since the story revolves around a German ambiance, learners who tend to watch this movie will understand the whole concept of German culture–a very effective tool in letting learners learn German language easier.

Nowhere in Africa

Are you fond of love story films? Nowhere in Africa is a love story spanning two continents, where the true tale of a Jewish family flees the Nazi regime in 1938 for a remote farm in Kenya. The story was written by Stephanie Zweig.

This movie also has German subtitles, so you will definitely have a great time learning English and German together.
