The S-64 Air Crane utilizes a six-blade main rotor and is powered by two 4,050 shaft horsepower Pratt & Whitney JFTD12A turboshaft engines. First flown in 1962, the S-64 Skycrane is a twin-engine heavy-lift helicopter developed by Sikorsky. This unique helicopter has seen more success in the civil market than military. Originally a Sikorsky Aircraft product, the type certificate and manufacturing rights were purchased by Erickson in 1992 and are currently produced as the S-64 Air Crane with over 4,000 modifications to the original design. Starting with three SkyCranes in 1971, Erickson now operates a worldwide fleet of 40 Air Cranes. Nikon D300 w/18-200mm.
