If by chance you find yourself clicking on the official website of the Prince Andrea, thedukeofyork.org, you would automatically be redirected to the Duke's personal page on the English Royal House website, royal.uk. What happened? The official website of the Duke of York, 60 years old, implicated in the sensational scandal in which Jeffrey Epstein was the protagonist, the American billionaire accused of pedophilia and exploitation of child prostitution has been closed.

On the site, the Duke published news about his business and charity activities and his career in the Navy. Andrea, in November 2019, had announced from his personal page on Twitter (still active today, even if he hasn't posted anything for months) farewell to public life, overwhelmed by the accusations and after a disastrous and embarrassing interview on BBC Newsnight.

And if initially the Prince seemed reluctant to collaborate with the FBI and with the US Department of Justice, today those who accuse him of not wanting to cooperate with the US authorities respond with a long statement, the work of his lawyers, in which he states instead, that Andrea has offered his help to the US Justice Department on at least three occasions this year. But the American authorities, still waiting for the Prince to decide to cooperate, took the situation in hand by communicating to the British Ministry of the Interior ("bypassing" Buckingham Palace, what has never happened before) their decision to interrogate the Princebut without extraditing him.

It's time to Ghislaine Maxwell, ex partner and alleged accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, was arrested by the FBI, Prince Andrea may have reason to fear the woman's revelations. Maxwell, who risks up to 35 years, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, but remains behind bars despite the release request. His trial is to be held in July 2021. Prince Andrea, who has recently kept a low profile, participating only in secret wedding of daughter Beatrice with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, continues to declare himself alien to the facts, expresses all his closeness to the victims of Epstein and reiterates that he feels remorse for having frequented the American tycoon, whose suicide, he says, has left many questions unsolved. And we are waiting to see if Maxwell, in order to get a penalty discount, will name - excellent - other public figures involved in the scandal. And burning revelations, which could involve the Duke of York and definitively condemn him. Or maybe exonerate it entirely.
