A business magnate
(or industrialist) is a businessperson of great influence, importance, or
standing in a particular enterprise or field of business. The word magnate
derives from the Latin magnates meaning "a great man" or "great
nobleman". A magnet is a material
or object that produces a magnetic field. This magnetic field is invisible but
is responsible for the most notable property of a magnet: a force that pulls on
other ferromagnetic materials, such as iron, and attracts or repels other
magnets.
Electricity and
magnetism are vital to our modern world.
Without them, perhaps, the World would still be warming with open fires
and would not enjoy the many electrical and electronic devices that lighten the
work everyday. All of us know that
when we rub our hairs with a comb, and
then take the comb near small pieces of paper, they are attracted by the
comb. That would be explained as charge
of static electricity. A permanent
magnet is an object made from a material that is magnetized and creates its own
persistent magnetic field. Horseshoe
magnets are powerful and can attract ferrous objects from a reasonable
distance.
In the
Rajni starrer ‘Enthiran’ (Robot) – the robot would be taken along by Sana
(Aiswarya Rai) – there would be series of incidents revealing the extraordinary
powers of Chitti (the robot). In an
interesting scene, disturbed by a local group blaring out too loudly and
disturbing the tranquillity of the night
- Chitti, would go and destroy the sound
system, only to be confronted by local henchmen running to attack him with
sickle and other instruments. Chitti
would transform to ‘magnetic mode’ – all the metal objects carried by the
attackers would strongly be attracted to Chitti, the robot, would come flying
and get attached to him. ………… fictional thinking of Sujatha brought on screen
by Shankar. In another film, Vivek affected by electric shock of a transformer
would be able to hear the inner voices of all women – which would lead him to
lot of trouble, getting to know their sinister plans !
Magneto is a
fictional character that appears in American comic books published by Marvel
Comics, most often in fiction related to the X-Men. Can you imagine a boy who suffered powerful
electric shock claiming to possess 'superpowers' like X-Men's Magneto as metal
objects stick to him
Daily
Mail reports of a Russian schoolboy who claims to have powers like X-Men's
Magneto. A schoolboy who was almost
killed when knocked out by a massive electric shock now claims the accident
gave him superpowers like those of X-Men's Magneto. Nikolai Kryaglyachenko, 12,
had been walking home after school when he lent briefly against a lamp post
that was live from a faulty wire, and was blasted across the pavement.
Nikolai
Kryaglyachenko, now claims metal objects stick to him like they do
to X-Men character Magneto. Stories about living magnets such as Nikolai
(pictured) began to appear in the middle of the 19th century. The schoolboy says that he is a keen fan of
comics and, believing that maybe he had developed some sort of super magnetic
power to attract metal like Magneto, had decided to put it to the test.
He has
also found himself one of the most popular boys at school with many of his
classmates asking him to demonstrate his superpowers. He is depicted as attracting lot of metal
objects that cling to him. In an
earlier story in 2004, a Russian factory worker Leonid Tenkaev and his family
received extensive media coverage when he appeared to obtain the ability to
attract objects after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Although people who have
the ability to attract metal items are commonly referred to as 'magnets', many
of them can also hold plastic, glass, wood and paper items on their body.
Scientists
say however that rather than people being magnetic, it is probably nothing more
than unusually sticky skin.
