Rose acts like a human. She looks exactly like Alainn. But, something in her comes out wrong.

To save her father from a five year prison sentence, Alainn takes Rose's place. She says goodbye to the sun and goes to live in a tower no human is allowed to enter. She becomes the prisoner of a man no human is allowed to see.

Believing that a life of servitude lies ahead, Alainn finds a very different fate awaits her in the company of the strange, scarred recluse.

Oh my God, I love Beauty & The Beast so why did it take me so long to read this book? I also have a fondness for books with intelligent AI. I am ashamed I didn't devour this one right away. What on earth was I thinking? I'm sure you can tell I loved this book. It is all kinds of awesome sauce. It reminded me a lot of The Lunar Chronicles which I also adore so win, win. I loved the way Alainn and Lorcan connect. Did he truly believe she was a robot? Alainn does a good job pretending to be a very human-like AI robot. This is a book of two halves. The first chunk revolves around Alainn posing as Rose and getting close to Lorcan. Then some crazy stuff happens and the book becomes something quite dark and quite different. Rose is the reason we should be wary of AI. Ensnared is truly original and sort of amazing.
