Move over, Better Business Bureau and Big Better Burgers, there's another BBB in town. And this time, it's Bone & Barrel Bistro, a family-friendly restaurant in Eastwood City that is all about hearty, meaty meals.
FUN FACT: Bone & Barrel Bistro is part of the same restaurant family as Blackbeard's Seafood Island.
Mommy Myrns and Daddy Ron. Editors.
Bone & Barrel Bistro's dishes have been created with the masculine, cowboy archetype in mind. Generous portions of marinated meat and cooked white rice are what you should expect to devour at this restaurant. Even the alcoholic beverages are meant to satisfy a grown man! Main product offerings include tapas, steaks and bulalos, and boy, is BBB really serious about their meat! Celebrity Chef Peter Ayson created the dishes together with chefs Neil Manuel and Raymond Magdaluyo.

Bestsellers include Mignon Skewers, Sirloin Tapa, Homemade Corned Beef Steak, Roasted Barrel and many more. Lifestyle Manila tried some of the bestsellers along with other products from the menu to find out how awesome BBB's beef really is.
Balut ala Pobre, Php130. Sizzling duck eggs with garlic.
Cheap and garlicky, the balut ala pobre is a great pulutan food. Don't order this without some alcohol!
Mignon Skewers, Php295. Bacon-wrapped, locally sourced fillet mignon stuffed with jalapeños and cheese.
Is there anything that doesn't taste good with BACON?! The mignon skewers are excellent appetizers to start your meal. The dish offers varying degrees of textures and flavors, and yet it falls flat on its face for me. The bacon doesn't seem to add anything to the dish, despite the shoo-in deliciousness that are cheese-stuffed jalapeños.
Cripy Pork Face, Php450. A.K.A. Savory heart bypass special.
I totally recommend any pork things fried this way, but it's heart bypass special. So take my opinion as a compliment.. at your own heart risk.
BBB Homemade Corned Beef, Php295
Everyone's favorite, the BBB Homemade Corned Beef gives value-for-money rustic flavors and charm. This dish is basically composed of a 150-gram, surprisingly tender, beef jowl that has been slow-braised in a secret blend of spices for 5 days! The corned beef is then served with vegetables and your choice of starch. A definite must-try!
Roast Beef, Php289.
Like the Homemade Corned Beef, this roast beef dish from Bone & Barrel is just plain yummy (and it's probably due to the fact that it is roasted for 4 full hours before being served)! The roasted beef jowl is tender, gravy subtle, veggies steamed well. Highly recommended.
Kansi, Php365.
Nip your hangover in the bud with Bone & Barrel's excellent bulalo offerings. Try BBB House Bulalo, a spectacular soupy concoction that has the right amount of beef and bone marrow flavor. Kansi, the Ilonggo style bulalo soup, is a sour and spicier version of the original bulalo Tagalog.
Despite the earthy ambience and the masculine theme, women can still enjoy themselves at the Bone & Barrel.
That's right, cowgirls. You can enjoy BBB's exclusive house flavored beers for Php85 a mug! Bestselling flavors include salted caramel, elder flower (gumamela) and wild berry. Hennessy Citrus--a mix of Hennessy cognac and cola--is a must-try and costs only Php99 a glass.
Wild Berry Flavored Beer.
Banana Foster, Php155. Sweetened bananas covered with vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate syrup.
As anyone can tell, I enjoyed sampling Bone & Barrel Bistro's menu offerings. Of course, taste is subjective, so people might want to take my opinion with a grain of salt. Either way just pay the new resto a visit!
